What Is Biotech and Cellular Animation? (And When You Need It)

3D that shows what happens at molecular and cellular scale: a vesicle releasing its cargo, a pathway switching on, a cell line behaving the way your data says it should. It is what you reach for when the thing you are selling cannot be photographed.

Accuracy a specialist will recognise

Scale, proportion and the relationship between structures come first. If a reviewer in your field cannot recognise it, the rest does not matter.

Built from your own data

Papers, assay results, structural data, lab footage, the slide your scientific director keeps redrawing. We start from what you already have.

One idea per sequence

A pathway tries to say ten things at once. The animation decides which one the viewer takes away, and the rest supports it.

Investor and partner decks

A dense platform turned into two minutes a non-specialist can follow, and repeat to somebody else afterwards.

Scientific communication and teaching

Cellular biology for courses, talks and outreach, where the audience has no background and no patience for a diagram.

Marketing for science-led products

What the ingredient or the technology actually does, which is the part that justifies the price.

BENEFITS OF BIOTECH AND CELLULAR ANIMATION

4

It shows what cannot be photographed

A vesicle, a receptor, a pathway switching on. These exist, they matter commercially, and no camera reaches them.

5

It makes a platform investable

A dense technology turned into two minutes that a non-specialist investor follows and can repeat to a colleague.

4

It survives a specialist audience

Built from your data and reviewed with your team, so the animation holds up in front of the people who know the field.

5

It serves science and marketing at once

The same 3D becomes a congress piece, a teaching sequence, a website header and a figure in a paper.

5

It outlives the campaign

A validated model of your biology is an asset you reuse every time the science has to be explained again.

WORK PROCESS

1

Brief & kickoff

We start from your data, goals, audience, and deadline. You bring the science and the message; we tell you what’s possible and how to make it land.

2

Script & storyboard

We turn the science into a clear narrative and a visual plan you approve before any animation begins, so everyone’s aligned while changes are still cheap.

3

Style frames & 3D modeling

We lock the visual style and build accurate models of your molecule, device, or anatomy.

4

Animation & production

We animate, light, and render in structured review rounds, so your medical, legal, and marketing stakeholders can all sign off in step.

5

Delivery in every format

You get the master plus every version you need — congress, web, social, sales, subtitled, or interactive.

Timelines & What to Expect

You will always know what stage you’re in, what you’re approving, and what comes next. Most projects run 4–10 weeks from brief to delivery, depending on length and complexity. Working against a congress or launch date? Tell us the deadline up front. We plan the entire production backward from it and after 25 years of trade shows and launches, we’ve hit a lot of them.

Factors That Determine the Price of a Biotech Animation

How much of the biology has to be built from zero, and how closely it has to be reviewed, is most of the difference. These are the factors that move the figure.

How much has to be modelled from scratch

A structure that already exists in a library is not the same job as one nobody has built yet, which is common in biotech.

Scientific complexity

A single mechanism and a full pathway with branches and timing are different amounts of work, not different finishes.

The material you give us

Imaging, structural data, papers and previous figures shorten production. Starting from a verbal description does not.

Depth of scientific review

Someone qualified has to confirm that what the animation shows is what happens. That review is part of the schedule, not an afterthought.

Deliverables, versions and languages

Congress cut, investor version, web and teaching material share most of the work if the list is agreed before production.

What this Investment Buys You:

Scientifically Accurate

Science that’s accurate and review-ready, not just pretty.

Full Ownership

Full ownership of your animation and every deliverable.

Every Format, From One Partner

Every format your team needs, from one partner.

On-Deadline Delivery

A studio that hits the deadline your project is built around.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT BIOTECH AND CELLULAR ANIMATION

What is biotech animation used for?

Explaining a platform, a process or a mechanism to people who have to decide something: investors, partners, regulators, customers or students. It is used wherever the thing being explained happens at a scale no camera reaches.

How is cellular animation different from medical animation?

It is the same craft at a different scale. Medical animation usually explains a treatment or a device in a body; cellular and biotech animation explains what happens inside and between cells, often before there is a product at all.

Can you animate our own assay or imaging data?

Yes, and it is the best starting point. Imaging, structural data and assay results make the animation specific to your science instead of generic biology.

Who reviews the science?

Your own specialists, at script and at first render rather than at the end. That is when changes are cheap and when a disagreement about the biology is still easy to fix.

How long does a biotech animation take?

Between four and twelve weeks depending on how much has to be modelled from zero and how many review rounds the science needs.

Can the same animation work for investors and for scientists?

Usually as two cuts of the same build. The science does not change; the pacing, the labelling and the level of detail do.

Do you work with companies that have no product yet?

Often. A platform at preclinical stage still has to be explained, and 3D is frequently the only way to show it.

What do you need from us to start?

Whatever exists: papers, data, previous figures, a slide deck, and the name of the person who has to approve the science.

The team that worked on my project took it to the next level. I came in with an idea, and they helped turn it into something far more powerful—with a real WOW effect for our clients. They delivered ahead of schedule and were completely professional throughout. What really surprised me was that we didn’t need to make a single change between the draft and the final version. For me, they’ll be a key strategic partner going forward.
