About the Project
About the Project
In addition to his clinical practice at Clínica Aurea in Santiago, Danilla is actively involved as an educator and researcher. He shares his expertise at international events organized by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), where he has taught his techniques in countries such as Germany, Brazil, and Turkey. Danilla has also served as vice president of the Chilean Society of Plastic Surgery and is committed to training future generations of plastic surgeons, teaching them advanced body sculpting techniques and both reconstructive and aesthetic procedures.
The Venus de Milo as the Central Theme
Stefan Danilla commissioned Pixel Medical Animation to create a 3D animation based on the classical sculpture of Venus de Milo to illustrate his TED talk on beauty standards and their impact on plastic surgery. In his presentation, he aimed to highlight how these standards, shaped by culture and society, influence patient expectations and, consequently, the approach to aesthetic procedures.
One of his main areas of interest has been questioning universal beauty standards, arguing that plastic surgery should adapt to the individual characteristics and desires of each patient, avoiding replicating homogeneous ideals. Specifically, his RAFT Lipoabdominoplasty technique reflects his approach to achieving harmonious and natural results, focusing on personalized beauty that respects the patient’s cultural identity.
This topic is also discussed in his academic publications, where he analyzes how aesthetic standards can both guide and challenge surgeons as they seek to balance patient satisfaction with body diversity and reality.

KINTSUGI
The Venus de Milo and Kintsugi
Kintsugi is an ancient Japanese technique of repairing
ceramics by filling cracks with gold or precious metals,
highlighting the scars instead of hiding them. It is not
just a way to repair broken objects but also a life philosophy
that celebrates the beauty in imperfection and resilience.
At Pixel Medical Animation, we create customized medical illustration solutions that merge scientific rigor with artistic design. Our team develops visuals that support pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and universities by simplifying communication and enhancing credibility. Whether for textbooks, patient education, or congress presentations, our illustrations are designed to capture attention while maintaining strict scientific accuracy. By combining expertise in medicine and 3D visualization, we help healthcare organizations stand out, communicate more effectively, and deliver messages that resonate in a competitive global market.

HARMONY AND NATURALNESS
The Influence of Beauty Standards
During the conference, Danilla addressed how aesthetic standards
can be both a guide and a challenge, as surgeons strive to balance
patient satisfaction with reality and the diversity of bodies.
