So this page is about devices, not about medical animation in general.
We have animated for Medtronic: the patient education serious game that explains insulin pump therapy to people newly diagnosed with diabetes. That project is a fair summary of what device work demands. An engineering team’s specification had to become something a patient could follow, without simplifying it into something clinically wrong.
Device animation has problems that pharma animation does not. The mechanism has to be accurate enough to survive regulatory and legal review. The same asset has to work on a trade show screen with no sound, on a rep’s tablet during a fifteen minute meeting, and inside a training module. And the part that matters most, what the device does once it is inside the body, is the part no camera can film.
